Bright Over Night
About
Bright overnight is an innovation competition which yearly occurs at Southern Danish University in collaboration with the municipality. It is a 24-hour case in a random team created a week in advance. You get presented a theme on which you have to come up with an innovative idea.

Case
Odense municipality is undergoing rebuilding and changing. It is transitioning into a big and smart city where technology and data can be used to aid user experience. The theme of the competition was precisely that transition. The question was how you could use data, through technology and make it into suitable innovative solutions.
Concept
Therefore our solution presented realistic light projections to communicate, support and interpret the changes happening. "Living city through constant movement". The answer aided the city to show future changes to citizens through holograms on construction sites walls, or build up dummies. It works by using a high-performance projector and a flat, big surface. It is also used as a quick 3D prototyping to involve user into the future development of the city which is not yet decided or invested upon. Helps to employ the citizen's opinion.
The project is financier through corporate involvement through testing of products through 3D prototyping holograms where the user already needs such a solution, where the user already habitats and planned into people’s routine to involve and entertain the users. Of course also to test the improvements and products success factor. This is within the budget for the municipality and with volunteer workers from graphics and art studies involvement through a created organisation for the specific project the city can come to life.
As an addition to the concept, future development plans were suggested. The involvement of 3D wearables and municipality software availability. It is also planned to build a strong glass four side hologram dummies to project moving video upwards.
